Hestia's Place
Formerly a luxury hotel, Hestia's Place was the site of a massacre of the human occupants by followers of the Fog God. Rumors began to fly that the building was haunted, and it fell into disuse. Maya Hart, a follower of the Fog God, took over the space and cleaned out the penthouse on the top floor, where she lived with her friends from home--one of whom invited Percy Jackson to move in shortly after his arrival.
Several months later, Percy opened the doors as a youth hostel and began restoring the lower floors.
Hestia is the Greek Goddess of hearth and home, and was one of Percy's favorite Olympians. He kept her name on the building as a reminder to himself and the other occupants that this place is a safe haven for any youth who needs one.
Since Percy's leaving, Korra has stepped up to take over the hostel and runs it in the same fashion.
Rent is charged on a sliding scale and a case by case basis, and can be bartered for help cleaning or doing chores. No one will be turned away, regardless of inability to pay.
Affiliated with The Lighthouse, a charity organization dedicated to helping newcomers settle in, care packages are available to newbies here at Hestia's Place, along with rooms for anyone 21(ish) and under.
The Owner:
Korra is a warm hearted and excitable werebear who spends a lot of daylight hours sleeping in her room. Originally just an inhabitant of Hestia's, she took over to keep it running once Percy had vanished. She's worked hard on renovating all of the floors to be monster-friendly and get the whole place clean.
