Video. Action for Ecruteak
[It's still habit, to make the motions of bending even though her gifts have been AWOL since she got here. She's gotten used to nothing happening, but the habits don't just go away. This morning is no different, as she stumbled groggily into the bathroom.]
[It's just automatic to gesture toward the sink instead of turning on the water manually. And it's early enough that there's no reaction when the knob turns and the drain slides closed and the sink begins filling with water. It's not until she's standing over it, hands cupped to wash her face, that it hits her.]
[And then all thoughts of washing her face are gone. With a muted sound of excitement, Korra begins bending the water. And the water responds. Trembling, wonderingly, Korra calls a column of water up in the sink. And again. And again. It's probably temporary, but that doesn't matter. Her face and hair are getting damp, but she doesn't care. She's practically tingling with sheer joy as she grabs her 'gear, still in her loose t-shirt and sweatpants, and flips it on. Positioned to show the sink behind her, she calls up another narrow flume as she starts broadcasting.]
MY BENDING'S BACK!
[It's all she has to say - or rather shout gleefully - at the moment. She can bend again!]
[There's already water all over the bathroom. She'll clean it up soon, and after can be found outside in the city, enjoying the use of her bending.]

Korra!
[ Let's just hope he doesn't startle her into blasting him in the face with water. ]

[But she's not so wrapped up in playing that she doesn't hear her name called. And she sure does recognize that voice! Her hands are full of fire when she turns, and she's not exactly surprised to see him, but...]
[She sort of is.]
Mako! What are you doing here?
[Is this just part of these weird days everyone's talking about? Because she would have noticed Mako. And he would have said something on the network by now....]

I just... showed up?
[ He's just as confused as you are, Korra. ]
With this fire chicken. Thing.
[ He means the Torchic that's currently on top of his head. ]

[And random people showing up for a couple of days was something normal. Korra extinguishes her flames and rakes her hair out of her face. She could probably do with a trim, it's still looking shaggy even though she's not half Mightyena anymore.]
And that's a Pokemon! Your Pokemon. Everybody here's got'em. The world literally revolves around them. Hi!
[The last is said to Mako's Torchic, and Korra waves and winks in greeting to the firebird.]
Hope you're up to keeping this guy in line.

[ If it's weird for Korra and him, it's definitely super weird, no doubt about it. Still, he has more questions as time passes. The Torchic in his hair fluffs, mussing Mako's own immaculate hair.
He doesn't look terribly pleased about it. He gestures to the tiger dog, anyway. ]
Figures you'd end up with a dog... thing. [ wow. ] What's its name?

[Sometimes it got weirder. This is way better than End of Days type battles, though. Korra just grins at the Torchic and calls over Iqniq, who happily joins them.]
>His name is Iqniq. He's a Growlithe. I've got others, too, but they're resting up right now. Other Pokemon, not other Growlithe.

[ A world without bending? Mako doesn't like to think too much about that. Thank the spirits he's here on one of these weird times. ]
You mean there are more of these? [ The Torchic's still ruffling Mako's hair, looking completely pleased with himself. ] ... Are they all like this.

They're animals, Mako. How do you think biology works? Two grownup Torchics loved each other very much....or at least liked each other enough, or got drunk and weren't careful one night. I really shouldn't have to be explaining this to you...
[Come on Mako, Korra is well aware you know how it works.]
And I've only been here a couple of months. But time's different, so it's like I never left. Asami's been here....a lot longer.
[....wait, does Mako even know about that?]
[Says the pony with a voice that is probably a little bit familiar.]
I guess it's just really nice to know it's still there, just not usable most of the time.
[She tilts her head, peering at the screen curiously.]
Um...speaking of....?

[She gestures with a hoof at her face and gives a wry grin.]
I may not have told you about this, I honestly can't recall.

Whoah. Would it be really rude to ask what you are? Besides extremely cool.

Some also call us horses.
no subject
You look like a spirit horse!

You have magic? What kind?
no subject
For example, my brother has a powerful magical shield he can create. So I learned how to do the same thing from him... only his is a lot bigger and stronger because he specializes in that one spell.
Well that and telekinesis, but all unicorns can do that.
no subject
So can other people do that, too, or just you? The all kinds of different magic thing.

[Sound familiar, Korra?]
