[In the interim, Korra has been frantically cleaning the brick-walled loft apartment she lives in half the time. She hasn't even really redone much, just changed out sheets and personal items. The furniture is a mix of black leather and heavy wood, lit by an eclectic mix of neon signs hung high on the walls. There's a 'kitchen' area in one corner with sleek black appliances and an old hardwood kitchen table with mismatched chairs. A collection of couches and comfortable looking chairs on a massive and opulent looking round rug make a 'living room' of sorts, with as big a television as Ryslig can offer and some bookshelves that looked welded together from old industrial pipes.]
[A line of black and red curtains hangs separating the back part of the large loft from the rest - the bedrooom. There are two doors visible, one that leads to the inside stairs down to the rest of the Nest, and one that leads outside to where a fire escape has been converted into a small balcony and steps to the alley below. Private access, which Korra appreciates.]
if you take the stairs out back up, the ones outside, they go right to my apartment door.
[Should she have changed? She's still in her regular Devil's Nest leather, but it's not like she has a bunch of cute outfits lying around here to change into. She has pajamas and workout clothes. Whatever, it's fine, probably.]
[As soon as she gets Korra's response, Anna is bounding up the stairs, two at a time, her vines shoving her laptop back into her backpack as she goes. At the top, the nymph takes a moment to fix her leaf-hair and smooth down her outfit before she knocks.
She can feel her sap-blood thrumming in her veins, mingled with nerves and anticipation, but she tries hard to keep her cool. Tries really hard not to kiss Korra the moment she opens the door, the way she really wants to.]
[Oh, maybe she should have put music on. Music, yes, that needs to happen. As she hears Anna knocking at her back door, she flips on the jukebox that serves as a radio and jogs over to the door to open it.]
Heyyyy.
[This is all totally normal! She and Anna have hung out a ton already. But not with the clear implications that come with a sexy underwear picture preceding said hanging out. That sort of puts a whole new sort of nervousness in place.]
[Anna hears music, and it makes her smile to herself just a little bit, because she knows it's for her. And, Gods help her, she literally just resolved not to, but then Korra is at the door, and she's dressed all in leather, and she looks so good...
Anna smiles, swallows hard, opens her mouth to reply, and then takes two steps forward and throws her arms around the werebear instead, leaning up on the tips of her root-toes to plant a searing kiss right on Korra's mouth. Hashtag no regrets.]
[If there had been any lingering doubts in Korra's mind about Anna's intentions, the sudden flying kiss eradicates them pretty well. No 'hello', just suddenly a nymph in her arms, lips to lips.
And she's not complaining. Instead she wraps her furry arms around Anna's waist and lifts her right off the floor so they're face to face. This is something she's thought about for a good few weeks at least, and she eagerly returns the kiss.
And kicks the door closed behind them - the shadows have eyes in Djavulenstad and she's not interested in giving anyone a show.]
[Likewise, Anna's doubts are gone the moment she feels those arms—warm, and so strong—wrap around her. Her heart feels like it's about to bang right out of her chest like a broken drum, it's hammering so hard.
And to sweeten the deal, Anna feels her feet leave the ground as she's lifted up and into Korra's arms. Heat floods her cheeks, a deep inhale giving her a hit of much-needed oxygen as she invests herself more fully into kissing the werebear. Without even hesitating, Anna wraps her legs around Korra's waist. Dimly, she's aware of a door shutting, but none of that really matters much, because she's far too busy swiping her tongue over Korra's lower lip, tasting her like she's the sweetest morsel of chocolate the queen has ever sampled.]
[Yup, this is happening. This is absolutely happening. This really isn't how Korra expected her night to go. Lots of pacing and changing lanterns had been on the agenda, but this is way better.
She's still not entirely sure that the current weirdness isn't playing a part, but she did ask. And they have been hanging out a lot and Anna doesn't seem like she's in the kind of state of mind where poor decisions and out of the ordinary behavior have taken over. This isn't like the donut incident.
But it's probably a good idea not to get too swept away, all things considered. She takes a few steps toward the couch, trying to judge just how far away it is without actually breaking and turning away from Anna.]
[Luckily, Korra gets her chance to figure out where the couch is not too long after, as Anna hauls herself back, breathing heavily, and stares at Korra with a definite red flush to her green skin. Only now does she remember to have any shame at all.]
Hah....hey. [She's most assuredly not letting go of Korra, though, and after a moment she leans back in, her nose brushing against the werebear's.]
Uh...thanks. It used to be a demon's, I haven't done much with it since....
[Korra keeps her 'Djavulenstad Stuff' here, and not much in the way of personal items. She makes her way to the couch, shifting Anna slightly so it's a little more comfortable to carry her. Korra's not an idiot - if the person you're carrying doesn't put their feet down, they're not interested in being set down.]
I was gonna ask if you wanted a drink or something...
[Anna takes what could only be described as a cursory glance around before she offers this assessment, and now that her initial nerves have worn off, lets herself settle into Korra's lap comfortably. It's a nice place to sit, she notes, broad and strong and the perfect perch for her featherweight form.
Grinning, the nymph leans forward and brushes a kiss over the corner of Korra's mouth.]
[Korra's just going to let Anna take the lead here. The other woman clearly knows what she wants and Korra's planning on just rolling with it. What's she going to do, tell the super cute nymph in her lap to knock it off and get off her? She's been going back and forth for at least a month trying to figure out if Anna had that kind of interest in her.]
[Heat rushes to the surface of Anna's skin, petal-soft and thin as it is. Korra's words invite so much possibility, and for the first time in a few days Anna lets that unnamed feeling take the reins—the very thing that had spurred her to take that photo and send it to Korra. Her lashes—which up close resemble the tiniest of flower petals instead of human eyelashes—lower incrementally as she takes in Korra's face, and Anna laughs softly.]
Heh. Okay.
[Her arms shift, the hands on the werebear's shoulders sliding around so she can cup Korra's neck instead, and then Anna is leaning in for more. This time, though, it's a slower, incrementally more heated kiss. It's intentional.]
[It's really taking a lot of Korra's willpower and resolve not to just sling Anna over her shoulder and haul her off to the bedroom portion of the loft. Aside from one random, wild party hook-up that she doesn't remember that great, it's been....so long. Kissing Anna is like a soft summer rain on a very parched field. The nymph's lips are so ridiculously soft and she can only imagine how soft all of her is...]
[But Korra means what she said, whatever Anna wants. She doesn't know how much experience the other woman has, or how much of this was because of weird god magic or whatever. But this is...it's really good. Korra returns the kiss eagerly, her broad padded hands on Anna's waist and her ears swiveled forward in obvious interest.]
[There's a large part of Anna that would gladly allow herself to be carted off, swept up in the moment as she is. Korra is warm and solid beneath her, enough that Anna's thighs squeeze around the werebear's waist briefly, as if reassuring herself of her presence.
But luckily for both of them, that small part of Anna's brain that's aware that something isn't quite right hauls her back by the reins. Slowly, Anna parts from where she's been slowly planting kisses down Korra's jawline, her hands curled around those strong, furry shoulders. She swallows heavily, offering up a slightly sheepish smile.]
S-sorry. Um...I've just wanted to do that for weeks, so.
[Anna's eyes, pupil-less and verdant green, take in every detail of Korra's face as she leans back, and it's a good look on her. Almost as good as the relief that floods every inch of Anna when those words meet her hears: since I liked someone like this.
The nymph queen grins, biting her lip as if to restrain how wide she wants to smile, and gently pulls herself out of Korra's lap so she can curl up beside her instead.]
Yeah? Gods, that's...really good to hear, Korra. Because I like you, too. A lot.
I did kind of figure when you sent that picture....
[Korra laughs, stretching one arm behind Anna on the back of the couch. She's not going to say it, but it's been a long time since anyone liked her, too. Something about her in this place...it doesn't invite that sort of attention.]
So...do you wanna go out? With me? Officially, I mean.
[Considering she's a nymph, and the fall chill has set in with a vengeance, Anna's more than happy to snuggle in against Korra's warm fur. Not that she needs an excuse, of course.
Tilting her face up, Anna grins, a little embarrassed but happy, too.]
Yeah, that was...well, Maya gave me the idea. But I'm glad it worked out. [She nods, leaf hair rustling with the motion.]
I'd love to, Korra. You're really...cool, and nice, and good.
[Wow, smooth. But Korra just feels...kind of giddy and a little relieved. It's been nerve-wracking going back and forth over whether or not Anna was sending her signals or flirting or just really friendly. And that thread of fear that maybe she was imagining it and Anna was just really friendly.]
I think you're pretty awesome, too. I'm really glad you stopped by for noodles that night.
It is pretty cool, [Anna giggles, letting herself relax a little more. She's been wound so tightly around Korra the whole time they've been hanging out, but now she can allow herself to let her guard down a little. Knowing that the feeling is mutual definitely helps.]
So am I! I should really trust my stomach more. [Anna pauses, chewing her lower lip shyly.]
They do say you should follow your gut for a reason!
[But that's how life happens, even here. She and Anna have both been here a while, known who the other is to a vague extent, but if they hadn't run into each other that evening months ago...]
[Anna is grinning, the flowers dotting the top of her head blooming a little wider as they're wont to do when she's especially happy. Her cheek tucked into Korra's shoulder, she bats her eyelashes up at the werebear. Her girlfriend. Oh, that's a nice thought.]
By the way, in case you were wondering, you can definitely kiss me.
[And also something Korra had kind of assumed, considering how Anna greeted her. Kissing was apparently very much on the table. And she's pretty eager to get back to that, but...]
Oh, one second, I'll be right back.
[The red lantern in her window is almost burned down, she has to change it. Reluctantly, she pulls herself away from Anna and the couch and pulls another candle out of the drawer.]
With everything going on, we're on red alert, and it's the lanterns here that let everybody else know what's up. My lantern and the Nest ones go on first, then everybody puts their lanterns up. It works way better than a telephone chain or something like that.
[Anna lets Korra slip away with equal reluctance, settling onto the sofa in her brief absence with one leg tucked beneath herself. While Korra tends to her lantern, Anna finally takes a moment to look around her little flat, and...it's nice. Definitely not what Anna expected, but that's not a bad thing.]
Jeez, sounds stressful. [Oh, no, is she being a nuisance?] Um, I can...if you need me to leave it's no problem!
[Forgetting entirely, of course, that Korra invited her here in the first place.]
