[New Year's Day, Korra will find a small package of mochi (colored pink, of course, though that's not the tradition) along with a card giving New Year's greetings. The card simply reads "Happy New Year, wish you were here" and contains a picture of Botan with her Pokemon. She's making a heart hands gesture and appears to be wearing a very special kimono, smiling bright as always.
The Fire Stone necklace she mentioned in her last letter to Korra is around her neck and unintentionally is brought attention to by Botan's gesture framing it.]

[Korra goes back and forth over the package all morning. She paces the length of her tiny house, which mostly means walking in a circle, staring at the contents on the table and debating what to do about them. About everything.]
[But she's been around and lived enough to know one thing: there's never any pro-bending match if both teams just stand on their starters and make vague gestures in each other's direction. One side has to do something.]
[Later in the evening, Korra sends a short text to Botan's gear.]

you know it doesn't take me too long to get to goldenrod.
[Unseen, but automatically, she clutches at the necklace. It takes a while for her to respond.]

["But I don't want to be a bother"? How is it being a bother?? Would she accept hearing something like that from one of her friends, no she wouldn't, so don't say that.]
