Whoah!

[Hey, this thing works! Korra peers into the screen of her 'Gear with a puzzled expression, turning it this way and that before holding it up right in front of her so her face fills the screen entirely.]

What is this place? Because it's definitely not the spirit world. The lack of any spirits at all is a pretty big clue.

[And last thing she remembers, that was definitely where she'd been heading. With Asami. She's even still dressed exactly the same. It's like she stepped into the portal but instead of taking her to the field in the spirit world, it took her...here.]

[She's pretty sure spirit portals don't work that way. At all. And if that's what happened, she shouldn't be alone. She's not too freaked out yet - she hasn't been hurt, no one's holding her captive, everybody seems friendly if unhelpful, and the tiger puppy thing chewing it's feet on the ground next to her makes her grin. She's pretty sure she's not in any danger, but she has no idea what's going on. And wherever she is, her bending doesn't seem to be working right now. Not exactly the best circumstances.]

Can people really hear me through this? There's somebody I need to find...

[ Asami stares at the gear for several moments in bittersweet disbelief before she turns on her own feed. Of all the possibilities... ]

[ Korra doesn't remember. It leaves a heavy ache in Asami's chest, but it's mostly overpowered by the surge of joy at seeing her here, again. She's made friends and a life for herself, but it just hasn't been the same, without her. ]

That... wouldn't happen to be me, would it?

[Instant joy breaks across Korra's face and her posture slumps a moment in relief. There she is. Safe and fine and somehow just not geographically right there.]

Where are you? I looked around this little town for a bit, but....

[No Asami. It's more of a relief than Korra can articulate, seeing her face on this kooky device.]

Are you okay?

[ Asami's broad, earnest smile fades a hair, like there's something a little more to this. ]

I'm fine.

[ Start with that. ]

We aren't in the spirit world, first thing. This is some other kind of world entirely, and I've... been here for quite a while. More than a year, now. Time flows funny. The last thing I remember was... leaving for the spirit world. With you.

This place is New Bark Town in the Johto region, and yes, we can all hear you. Does that somebody have a name and a description? They might have been around at some point, or they might still be.

Elsa hadn't had the chance to talk to Korra when she returned the first time after she disappeared for a brief time, so she was a bit surprised to see how she'd changed. The short hair... she certainly wasn't expecting that.

She also wasn't expecting the sudden sinking feeling in her gut. It was like a feeling of dread, but... no. That can't be. She liked Korra. She shouldn't be feeling like this...]

Korra...?

[No. Ignore it. You shouldn't feel like this, Elsa. Just smile like you always do, and everything will be okay!]

[ Naminé very nearly gives Korra an exclamation that she's glad she's back--they hadn't spoken often, or very much, but Naminé had liked Korra quite a lot before she left. It takes a lot of control--not a problem for her, really--for her not to tip Korra off that she knows her. Would that be... presumptuous? When Roxas had returned, he'd remembered, but she's not sure about Korra... ]
